Grazon Extra is a powerful herbicide that targets broadleaf and woody weeds with three active ingredients: triclopyr, picloram, and aminopyralid. This triple-action formula offers the highest broad-spectrum control against noxious woody and broadleaf weeds on the market, making it an impactful choice for anyone looking to eradicate unwanted plant species. It’s ideal for use in agricultural and non-crop areas, including pastures, forests, industrial areas, and rights of way.Â
Grazon is absorbed via both the foliage and roots of a weed, which means it can penetrate the plant extremely easily, leading to results in as little as a week. After application, you’ll notice browning out, where the leaves and stems discolour, signalling the plant is dying. Its knockdown capabilities and long-lasting residual action mean that once you’ve applied Grazon weed killer, you’ll enjoy ongoing control of up to two years in some cases.Â
Active ingredient: Aminopyralid @ 8g/L, picloram @ 100g/L and triclopyr @ 300g/L.Â

Grazon Extra is a herbicide used to eradicate hard-to-kill weeds in agricultural and non-crop settings. It’s particularly effective against noxious woody and broadleaf weeds.Â
What sets Grazon apart from other weed killers is its unique combination of actives, which provide knockdown control and have a residual effect in the soil that can last up to two years.
Does Grazon Extra kill grass?
When applied as directed, Grazon Extra Herbicide does not kill grass, which means it’s perfect for use in pastures where desired grasses must be maintained. You can use a herbicide like Grazon to eradicate weeds from these areas without any damage to the pastures themselves.Â
What are the major weeds controlled by Grazon Extra Herbicide?
The main weeds controlled by Grazon Extra include common species of environmental, noxious woody and herbaceous weeds found in Australia, including blackberry, thistle, gorse, lantana, and St John’s wort.

How long does Grazon Extra remain active in the soil?
Grazon Extra has fantastic residual results, staying active in the soil up to two years after initial application. This makes life easy for land owners and managers, as frequent reapplication is not required to keep weeds under control.Â
What is the grazing withholding period after applying Grazon Extra?
When Grazon Herbicide is used as directed, there is no grazing withholding period required to comply with Australian regulations. If your stock is destined for the domestic market, it can continue to graze on pastures treated with Grazon. However, please note that different intervals will apply for export markets, depending on the destination country.
Features & Benefits
Grazon Extra is an extremely beneficial herbicide for land managers and producers alike. Here’s why:Â
Triple-action formula: Grazon Extra contains three active ingredients; triclopyr, picloram, and aminopyralid. This sets it apart from other common herbicides on the market and enables much more effective, long-lasting control.Â
Broadest spectrum weed control: This product offers the broadest selective control available in a single product on the market today, eradicating a wide range of weeds, including woody, noxious, and broadleaf species.Â
Rapid knockdown effects: Once Grazon is applied, plants will demonstrate visible signs of death, such as browning out within around a week. The herbicide rapidly disrupts growth because of its triple-action formula and absorption via both the plant’s foliage and roots.Â
Extended residual activity: All three actives in Grazon Herbicide have lasting residual effects in the soil. This will prevent new weeds from germinating in your pastures or other areas of concern for up to two years at a time.
Grass preservation: This product is designed to control target weeds without affecting beneficial pasture grasses. This allows them to establish quickly after treatment, and will ensure your pastures stay healthy and safe even when weeds emerge.Â
Reliable rainfastness: It only takes one hour post-application for Grazon to be rainfast, which means that the herbicide’s effects will be secured even if rainfall occurs soon after treatment to the affected area.
Root system eradication: Grazon works to kill weeds through the roots as well as the foliage. This guarantees total eradication of the root mass and helps to prevent regrowth, leading to longer-term control.Â
Flexible application: This product can be applied using an array of different methods, including aerial application, high-volume foliar spraying, controlled droplet application (CDA), low volume-high concentrate methods like gas-powered guns and sprinkler sprayers, and boom application. This makes it an incredibly versatile choice across different environments and contexts, offering flexibility for land managers.Â
Domestic grazing withholding period: There is no grazing withholding period required for stock destined for the domestic Australian market when using Grazon weed killer. This permits continuous grazing on treated pastures.Â
Integrated weed management: A product like Grazon is a crucial component of helping land managers deliver long-term, cost-effective weed control as part of an integrated weed management strategy. Â
Grazon Extra is an excellent selective herbicide. It is very expensive, but it does what it says it does! Excellent product. I left one star off as the delivery and service of Specialist Sales was less than its normal exemplary standard.

Thankyou for keeping in touch with us throughout the delivery process and you can rest assured that we’ve instilled our customer service approach to our team and we hope to be able to showcase that with your next order.
Worked well on Cape Weed, even on dense patches, it took a bit longer to die (1 or 2 weeks) but stopped new growth and flowering immediately. Have also used on other weeds with good effect. Will kill some grasses but will leave other grass types alone.
We have been using grazon for quite a few years now. Can’t believe the difference in our 2.5 acres. The weeds are almost non existent and the grass grows beautifully each winter. Will not use anything else where there is grass now. Specialist sales very easy to order from, no hassles with delivery or product.
Great killer for woody pests.Leaves grass untouched
Rob (verified owner)
It kills all the woody pests but leaves the grass alone. When I want to kill everything I add roundup equivalent to it and everything is killed. It does not effect trees.
Target aim to knock off Blackberry amongst native vegetation. So far excellent results found. Grazon Extra is working a treat.
Purchased from Specialist Sales, a perfect Australian company to deal with. Very easy transaction, product packaging was perfect and speedy delivery. Thank You Specialist Sales.
Too early to tell yet as gorse is very, very stubborn but fingers crossed we get a good kill.
Specialist Sales provided prompt delivery and product arrived in perfect condition.
I use this product frequently and usually buy local, but I couldn’t get 5 litre containers of it so I went online and found SpecialistSales who do, and also offer free delivery, excellent service all at a very competitive price. The transaction went flawlessly and the order was delivered rather quickly. Would definitely use this company if I need more of similar products.
Used in a small towable boom sprayer does a brilliant job of removing multiple weeds including thistles etc. you can really see the difference between sprayed and not sprayed areas within a few days.
Also like the fact it is not affected by rain after 1 hour.
This is the best product we have found for controlling wandering jew – native and exotic one. It also works well on other common weeds we have on the property in the grass. Excellent delivery times and great price
Great product. Knocks the crapp out of lantana which is why i purchased it. Not expensive for what it does and other weeds that it controls. Suits my purpose for control of the lantana and other noxious weeds.
Also great customer service. Product arrive well before expected. A top company to deal with. Questions asked about products, always answered, and with advice.
Yes, prompt delivery and does exactly what it says it will do. We have a vast weed issue across a large paddock area and was looking for the right solution to the issue and believe it has been found.
This product significantly reduced the amount of Patterson’s Curse, Capeweed and other woody weeds from cropping up from last season when I sprayed with Grazon Extra. So much so in fact that I was able to spot spray this season the little amount of weeds that popped up, with the backpack rather than using the boom on 12 acres. Thoroughly recommend this product if you have horses and have to deal with Patterson’s Curse, Capeweed and other woody weeds.

Low Volume High Concentrate Application Techniques (Gas Powered Gun, Sprinkler Sprayer): 335mL – 500mL per 10L Water
Boom Application: 2L – 5L per Hectare
Boom Application (Fallow): 200mL – 500mL per Hectare
Blanket Wiper Application:Â 1:4 (1 part Hatchet Extra to 4 parts water)
Application Methods:
Apply as a foliar spot spray to completely wet all leaves and stems. Coverage should be to the point of run-off in that the chemical mix is just beginning to drip from the leaves once the spraying is completed. Think of painting a wall and use that motion in your spray action to achieve full coverage of the foliage, then use a more directed stream to thoroughly treat the stems and canes.
This type of application is called high volume spraying as you are applying a large amount of spray mixture to the target weeds. Provided that good coverage of the target weed is possible, high volume spraying can be completed using a variety of equipment – from a small hand pump unit to a knapsack sprayer through to a large motorised pump and handgun unit.
With a foliar spray you are looking to capture enough chemical on the foliage to kill not only the above-ground portion of the weed but all of the root mass as well, so good coverage is essential. If you are spraying very large weeds like blackberries that are several years old, ensure that canes on the inside, as well as the outside of the foliage mass, receive direct contact with the applied spray.Â
As a guide, one hectare of blackberries 1–2 metres in height will typically require a spray volume of 3000–4000 litres to be thoroughly covered, whilst the same area of a small herbaceous weed such as ragwort will require 500–1000 litres.Â
Always refer to the label & directions before using, as some conditions apply to certain weeds, areas of use, etc. Further details of use can be found in the Directions for Use section on the Product Label.
Rates are a general guide only. Before opening, carefully read Grazon Extra Herbicide Directions for Use, Precautionary and Protection Statements, Storage and Disposal, Safety Directions and First Aid Instructions. Â The product is designed for the particular purpose indicated on the label. Failure to use the product strictly as directed may be illegal and dangerous and render the product ineffective.

APVMA Permit PER14249 allows the use of Grazon Extra Herbicide for control of ragweed in native vegetation and non-cropland areas (e.g., rights-of-way, fence lines, industrial sites). Spraying mature ragweed after seed set offers limited benefit - plants are often dying back or less actively taking up herbicide, so control may be reduced, and seeds already in the soil won't be affected (though Grazon Extra has residual activity against some emerging seedlings). For thick, mature infestations, waiting until spring (when plants are actively growing with good leaf cover, ideally October-May and prior to flowering for plants <1.5m tall) gives better results, as the herbicide penetrates and translocates more effectively, resulting in stronger knockdown and residual suppression. If spraying now, ensure thorough coverage at permitted rates, but expect a possible follow-up application in spring for best long-term control.Â

Grazon Extra is used to kill hard-to-kill weeds in agricultural and non-crop settings. You should never use it in domestic situations such as gardens, garden beds, turf or lawns. Many plant species in domestic situations are highly susceptible to Grazon Extra, with severe damage or death likely. Buffalo Turf is a broadleaf species, which Grazon Extra is designed to target and kill.

Grazon Extra Herbicide is known for its rapid 'brown out' effect; the appearance of burnt foliage suggests that the herbicide application is working on the Periwinkle. There is a risk that the Grazon Extra and Metsulfuron-methyl, being systemic herbicides, could affect non-target plants like the English Oak, as root uptake can occur if the herbicide reaches the root zone of nearby trees.

When spraying with Grazon Extra Herbicide, following the grazing withholding periods relevant to your situation is essential. Livestock should not graze on treated pastures for 42 days after application if they are destined for export markets. If Livestock has been grazed on or fed treated crops within 42 days of application, they should be placed on clean feed for 3 days before slaughter. For domestic markets, there is no grazing withholding period when used as directed. However, best practice is to remove animals from the area while spraying until the chemical has dried and translocated through the plant. It will also depend on the plants you are spraying, as there is a risk that toxic plants may become more palatable after spraying, and many poisonous plants may remain poisonous after death. Stock should not be allowed access to these plants, as they may graze the dead material. Such material should be burnt if possible. Please ensure you read the SDS and Label before purchase and use to confirm suitability for your situation & follow all manufacturer's guidelines. These are available under 'SDS and Technical' on the product page on our website.

QDoes Grazon Extra Herbicide control & kill Green cestrum?
Asked by ian on February 23, 2025 9:36 am
A
Grazon Extra Herbicide is registered to control Green cestrum. The recommended time to spray is late spring to early autumn at a rate of 500mL per 100L water. One application may give satisfactory control of current growth, and any subsequent regrowth and seedlings must be resprayed at approximately 1 metre high. Further details can be found on the registered 'directions of use', which can be found on the Grazon product page by clicking the heading 'SDS & Technical' as you scroll down on the left-hand side. Always read the 'directions of use' to ensure the product suits your situation.

The 'directions of use' for Grazon Extra Herbicide include African boxthorn, Eucalyptus spp., and Casuarina spp. as controlled species on the registered weeds table, and it is registered for application via high volume spraying, so this may be a good option for you to target these species depending on your situation. It is a selective herbicide, so if there are other species you need to control, Grazon Extra may not target these. You can find the 'directions of use' on the Grazon Extra product page by scrolling down to the heading 'SDS & Technical' on the left-hand side. Once you click this, you can click the 'Grazon Extra Herbicide Label', and a PDF copy of the label will be visible. We recommend adding a penetrant to the take mix when dealing with hard-to-kill, noxious, and woody weeds, such as Consume Penetrant, Eurochem Penetrant, or PCT Reactor Penetrant. Although Grazon Extra is compatible with glyphosate, the tank mix is only listed on the registered 'directions of use' for use via boom application for the control of blackberry nightshade, camel melon, prickly paddy melon, cucumber melon, cow vine flax-leaf fleabane, lucerne (established), and Polymeria pusilla, at a rate between 200-500 mL of Grazon Extra dependent on circumstance, to 1.2LTR of Glyphosate (450g/L) with an adjuvant. If you use this via a spray unit or for a weed species other than specified on the label, this will be classified as 'off-label' use and is to be done at your own risk. The mixture of Grazon Extra Herbicide and Metsulfuron-Methyl can effectively control blackberry. Grazon Extra does not control Ivy and should not be used in domestic garden situations. Aminopyralid and Picloram used in Grazon Extra have a lasting residual effect in the soil. Very few products are registered to control Ivy. However, herbicides made with Triclopyr (e.g., Garlon 600 Herbicide) are registered to control English Ivy when mixed with Glyphosate (Roundup). Note that this is a non-selective option and shouldn't be sprayed on Ivy growing on trees, etc. Please ensure you read the label and SDS before purchase and use. These can be found under the 'SDS & Technical' tab on each product page on the Specialist Sales website.

Herbicides made from Fluroxypyr (ie Starane Advanced, Fireball 400, Sabakem Fluroxypyr 400) are effective in controlling Wandering Jew or Trad (Tradescantia albiflora) and Cobblers Pegs (Bidens pilosa) in agricultural non-crop areas, commercial and industrial areas, forests, pastures and rights-of-way. To the best of our knowledge, there are no herbicides registered to control Callisia repens (creeping inch plant); as you have mentioned, Callisia repens is growing in similar areas to the Tradescantia albiflora; you may want to undertake an 'off-label' trial at your own risk. The visible damage to lantana from herbicides can be slow, appearing over weeks. Wilting, yellowing and dieback of the leaves occur, which then advances to complete browning of aboveground growth and deterioration of root stems. When using most knockdown herbicides, complete brownout occurs in 4–6 weeks, and death of the plant occurs in 9–12 weeks. Lantana should not be slashed or disturbed until the plant is completely dead and the root system has deteriorated.

Although Grazon Extra Herbicide is registered to control blackberry, it should not be applied when the herbicide may end up in a waterway. Grazon Extra Herbicide should not be used under weather conditions or from spraying equipment that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands, pastures, waterways or native vegetation. You should also ensure that physical spray drift onto waterways, native vegetation and susceptible crops is not allowed. There are also individual state and council laws that need to be investigated before the application of herbicides around waterways. Do not burn off, cut or clear blackberry or other woody weeds for at least six months after spraying.

Grazon Extra is formulated to be applied to actively growing foliage. Grazon Extras 'directions for use' don't recommend 'cut stump'/ 'brush cut' as a suitable application method. Grazon can be applied as a foliar application to new gum & wattle regrowth after slashing. Other herbicides recommended for cut stump applications, such as Access Herbicide & Tordon Regrowthmaster, need to be applied to the cut stump immediately, as the sap will set very quickly and repel the application of herbicides.

Grazon Extra Herbicide is not registered or recommended to control palm species, including Kentia Palms. An 'off-label' application of Grazon Extra Herbicide plus a penetrant could be undertaken as a trial, and attention would need to be taken to ensure that all the foliage is sprayed. However, results can't be guaranteed. Other products, such as Tordon 75-D, are registered to control Zamia Palms when used as a stem injection, but whether Kentia Palms would also be susceptible is unknown.

Grazon Extra Herbicide is a selective herbicide designed to kill woody weeds that are broadleaf species. It is not recommended for killing grasses, so it is important to ensure that you are targeting the correct type of weed before using this herbicide. Unfortunately, Lomandra and Swamp Grass are not broadleaf species, so they are unlikely to be affected by Grazon Extra, and Tea Tree is not listed as a species controlled on the Grazon Extra label. The recommended method to control Tea Trees includes Garlon 600 or Access Herbicide, either applied as a basal bark spray or cut stump application. Alternatively, Tordon Regrowthmaster can also be applied via stem injection. Lomandra, Swamp Grass & various rush species are very difficult to control. A general 'off-label' method is often used whereby the old, hard leaves/growth is removed. Once new growth appears, it should be sprayed with a potent mix of glyphosate and penetrant. Repeat applications are likely to be required.

Asked by Peter on July 2, 2023 11:08 pm
A
Adding a surfactant/ adjuvant /or penetrant to the tank mix with Grazon Extra will ensure a better result, particularly when plants have waxy or hairy foliage. Surfactants/ adjuvants /or penetrants maximize spray application by wetting and sticking the herbicide to the plant by lowering the surface tension of the spray droplet. Penetrants (i.e. Consume Penetrant) also assist in penetrating the plant by forcing the active ingredient deep inside the weed tissue, where it is translocated to the root system, creating a greater success rate in completely eradicating the weed.Â

Grazon Extra Herbicide is an excellent option to control Eucalyptus sapling regrowth. Grazon Extra 'directions for use' recommend a foliar spray application to Eucalyptus seedlings and regrowth from small lignotubers 1-3m tall at a rate of 350mL to 500mL of water, applying the higher rate where difficult-to-control species regrowth is present. We recommend adding a penetrant to improve results, i.e. Consume, Eurochem or PCT Reactor Penetrant. Always read the 'directions for use' carefully before application. This can be found on the product page in the SDS & Technical tab. A PDF file is available for download or printing.

When added to other active ingredients, such as triclopyr & picloram, aminopyralid can enhance the effectiveness of the herbicide by providing additional control of certain broadleaf weed species. Aminopyralid disrupts the growth and development of the target weeds, leading to their eventual death. It's also important to be aware of the potential for aminopyralid to persist in the soil for an extended period.

Grazon Extra Herbicide is registered to target specific species (mainly broadleaf) without harming grasses. Grazon Extra is unlikely to have any effect on controlling bamboo. Bamboo Grass is usually sprayed with Flupropanate or Glyphosate Herbicides. Flupropanate is currently unavailable, possibly returning to market later in 2023. Glyphosate can be applied as a Spot spray. Remove tops of bamboo shoots and spot spray actively growing foliage and regrowth 1–2 m high. It can also be used via the Cut stump method, where you cut stems back to 20 cm tall and immediately pour herbicide down the hollow stem and wet the cut). Refer to the Glyphosate label for mixing rates.

Although not stated on the Grazon Extra Herbicide label, removing horses while spraying is considered the best practice. The re-entry period is usually long enough for the chemical to dry and be translocated through the plant. Twenty-four hours would be more than adequate. You do need to be aware of any plants that may become poisonous once sprayed. Toxic plants may become more palatable after spraying, and stock should be kept away from these plants until they have died down. Many plants remain poisonous after death, and stock should not be allowed access, as there is a likelihood that they may graze the dead material. Such material should be burnt if possible. The Withholding Periods for Grazon Extra only apply to livestock destined for slaughter or export markets. Grazon Extra should not kill the grass if it is applied at the correct rates. If the chemical is being used by high-volume hand spraying, the volume of the chemical may be applied higher than recommended, so care must be taken. The result may be some damage to the grass due to phytotoxicity.

Grazon Extra Herbicide contains two active ingredients that can persist in the soil for a lengthy period after application. Picloram degrades very slowly, with half-lives in the soil ranging from 167 to 513 days. Aminopyralid photodegrades slowly in soil, at a moderate rate depending on the soil type, with a half-life range of about 31.5 days to 193 days. These residues may affect the health of fruit trees if they are still present in the soil.

Herbicides used to kill sucker regrowth in domestic situations should be cautiously handled. Spray drift or application close to non-target plants may result in severe damage or death, hence why these herbicides are not registered or recommended for domestic use. For sucker regrowth control, the following chemicals are often used. 1) A mixture of Grazon, Metsulfuron and a Wetting Agent, 2) Access Herbicide + Diesel & 3) Vigilant II Herbicide Gel. The Vigilant Gel is the safest option as it is a cut-and-paint application method that reduces damage to non-target species. Â

Grazon Extra Herbicide does not have an optimum pH level for use listed on the products label. If you are worried about the quality of the water being mixed with the Grazon Extra, you should consider the option to use an Acidifying/buffering agent. Acidifying/buffering agents adjust the pH of alkaline or acidic water and minimise decomposition of the pesticide through alkaline hydrolysis. We recommend the best results will be achieved with Grazon Extra when mixed with a Polyether Modified Polysiloxane Adjuvant such as Pulse, Eurochem, or Consume. These adjuvants spread, stick and forces the chemical into the plant

Grazon Extra Herbicide is registered to target specific species (mainly broadleaf) without harming grasses. Grazon Extra is unlikely to have any effect on controlling Rat's Tail Grass. Rat's Tail Grass is usually sprayed with Flupropanate or Glyphosate Herbicides.
Is this safe to spray while horses are still grazing or do they have to be locked up for an amount of time?

Although not stated on the products label, removing horses while you are spraying is considered best practice. The reentry period is usually long enough for the chemical to dry and be translocated through the plant. 24-hours would be more than adequate.
You do need to be aware of any plants that may become poisonous once sprayed. Poisonous plants may become more palatable after spraying and stock should be kept away from these plants until they have died down. Many plants remain poisonous after death, and stock should not be allowed access, as there is a likelihood that they may graze the dead material. Such material should be burnt if possible.
The Withholding Periods for Grazon Extra are only applicable for livestock destined for slaughter or export markets.

Tips For Use
Equipment Required for Application (Depending on the Size of the Job at Hand):
Large dense infestations (for example, large, old dense blackberry stands) are best treated with a large motorised pump and handgun unit. This equipment can often be hired or a contract spray applicator can be engaged.
However, a suitable knapsack or hand pump spray unit will suffice in many situations, provided that good coverage can be achieved (to the point of run-off).
Ideally use a spray unit that is dedicated for application of herbicides only (to avoid cross contamination).
Measuring jug.
Cotton overalls or long-sleeved shirt and long pants.
Washable hat.
Elbow-length PVC gloves.
Safety glasses or face shield.
Correct Mixing Procedure:
If possible, mix Grazon Extra with clean water sourced from town supply or a rainwater tank, although any source of clean water may be used. Avoid using water that is particularly ‘hard’ or strongly alkaline as that may reduce herbicide efficacy. Half fill the spray tank with water then add the Grazon Extra before adding the remainder of the water. If the product label requires the addition of a spray oil, penetrant or wetting agent to assist in control your particular weed population, mix in once the spray tank is full.Â
Once mixed, the spray solution should ideally be kept agitated and used immediately. However, if circumstances conspire to interrupt spraying, a mixture of Grazon Extra and water can be stored for up to seven days, provided that it is intermittently agitated each day, and well agitated again before use.
Application Timing for Best Results:
In general, smaller weeds are easier to control than large ones.Â
Grazon Extra is most effective when applied to weeds that are not stressed due to lack of moisture, excessive heat, insect or pathogen (such as rust) damage, etc. and are actively growing. Actively growing weeds will draw the chemical into the vascular system and transport it through the stems and down to the roots to ensure maximum efficacy.
Grazon Extra needs to penetrate into the leaves of treated weeds before any rainfall occurs so do not make applications if rain is possible before the spray is completely dry – usually one hour. Similarly, avoid application if the leaves are wet from rainfall or dew.
Once the weeds have been sprayed leave them undisturbed so that the chemical is able to move throughout the leaves, stems and roots and provide complete kill. Disturbing the weeds by slashing, burning, mulching, etc. before the chemical is fully distributed will compromise the control achieved. We recommend that blackberries and other woody weeds not be disturbed for six months after spraying to maximise the performance of Grazon Extra.
Restraints:
Do not apply to weeds which may be stressed (not actively growing) due to prolonged periods of extreme cold, moisture stress (water-logged or drought affected), poor nutrition, presence of disease, damage or previous herbicide treatment, as reduced levels of control may result.
Do not spray if rain is likely within 1 hour or if foliage is wet from rain or dew.
Do not burn off, cut or clear blackberry or other woody weeds for at least 6 months after spraying.
Do not apply by aerial application in winds in excess of 15 km/hr and/or air temperatures above 35 °C.
In areas prone to flooding, treatment should commence after any annual flooding, as such areas flooded within 9 months following application may have reduced results.
Protection of Crops, Native and Other Non-Target Plants:
Crops susceptible to Grazon Extra include, but are not limited to: peas, lupins, lucerne, navy beans, peanuts, soybeans and other legumes, cotton, flowers, fruit, hops, ornamentals, shade trees and Pinus spp., potatoes, safflower, sugar beet, sunflowers, tobacco, tomatoes, vegetables and vines.
Grazon Extra is damaging to susceptible crops during both growing and dormant periods.
Grasses are normally unaffected and establish quickly after treatment.
Picloram and aminopyralid, two of the active constituents in this product, can remain active in the soil for extended periods depending on soil type and application rate, rainfall, temperature, humidity, soil moisture and soil organic matter.
Do not apply under weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands, pastures, waterways, or native vegetation.
Do not allow physical spray drift onto waterways, native vegetation and susceptible crops.
Do not apply close to, or in areas, containing roots of desirable vegetation, where treated soil may be washed onto areas growing (or areas to be planted with) desirable plants.
Do not apply on sites where surface water from heavy rain can be expected to run off to areas containing, or to be planted with, susceptible crops or plants.
Do not move soil that may have been treated to areas where desirable plants are to be grown.
Protection of Livestock:
Poisonous plants may become more palatable after spraying and stock should be kept away from these plants until they have died down.
Many plants remain poisonous after death, and stock should not be allowed access, as there is a likelihood that they may graze on the dead material. Such material should be burnt if possible.
Protection of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans and the Environment:
Do not contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used containers.
Storage:
Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.
Do not store near food, feedstuffs, fertilisers or seed.
Safety Directions:
It will irritate the eyes and skin.
Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
If the product gets in the eyes, wash it out immediately with water.
When opening the container and preparing the spray, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrists, a washable hat, elbow-length PVC gloves, and a face shield or goggles for handheld application. When using the prepared spray, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrists, a washable hat, elbow-length PVC gloves, and a face shield or goggles.
After each day’s use, wash gloves, face shield or goggles and contaminated clothing.
Wash your hands after use.
First Aid:
If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or the Poisoning Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126.
If in the eyes, hold the eyes open, flood with water for at least 15 minutes and see a doctor.

Withholding Period
Withholding Period Details (WHP):
Pasture:
Cutting or grazing pastures for stock food: Not required when used as directed.
Livestock destined for export markets:
The grazing withholding period only applies to stock slaughtered for the domestic market.
Some export markets apply different standards.
To meet these standards, ensure that in addition to complying with the grazing withholding period, the export slaughter interval is observed before stock are sold or slaughtered.
Export Slaughter Interval (ESI) – 3 days
Livestock that have been grazed on or fed treated crops within 42 days of application should be placed on clean feed for 3 days prior to slaughter.
Export Grazing Interval (EGI) – 42 days:
Livestock that have been grazing on treated crops or pasture should not be sold for export slaughter for 42 days (6 weeks) after application of the chemical product, unless the export slaughter interval has been observed.
When grazon extra is used as directed and the above withholding periods and/or export intervals are observed, treated grain and livestock commodities are considered acceptable for export.
However, export requirements are subject to change. Consult your exporter for updated information about specific market requirements

Grazon Extra is an excellent selective herbicide. It is very expensive, but it does what it says it does! Excellent product. I left one star off as the delivery and service of Specialist Sales was less than its normal exemplary standard.

Used in a small towable boom sprayer does a brilliant job of removing multiple weeds including thistles etc. you can really see the difference between sprayed and not sprayed areas within a few days.
Also like the fact it is not affected by rain after 1 hour.
